Emmerdale Legend Michael Parr To Leave Soap After 10 Years
Michael Parr, who plays Ross Barton in Emmerdale, has announced he will be leaving the soap after 10 years.
The actor, 35, has been a fan favourite since joining the ITV soap in 2013 and has been involved in some of its most dramatic storylines.
In a statement, Parr said: "After 10 years, I have decided to leave Emmerdale. It's been an incredibly difficult decision to make but it's one that I believe is right for me and my family.
He continued: "I would like to thank everyone at Emmerdale for the opportunity to play Ross Barton. It's been an honour and a privilege and I will cherish the memories I've made here forever.
Parr's exit storyline will air later this year.
It is not yet known how Ross will leave the village but it is sure to be a dramatic exit.
Parr's departure will be a big loss to Emmerdale. He has been a central character in the soap for many years and his character has been involved in some of the show's most memorable storylines.
It will be interesting to see how the show replaces Parr and Ross Barton. The character has been a popular one with viewers and it will be difficult to find someone to fill his shoes.
