Boston withstands Golden State's 3rd-quarter surge
The Boston Celtics have taken a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals after a 116-100 win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 on Wednesday night.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 26 points, while Jaylen Brown added 27 points. The Celtics also got a big contribution from Marcus Smart, who had 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry, who had 31 points. However, Curry was just 10-of-24 from the field and 5-of-15 from three-point range.
The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors 35-14. The Celtics held the Warriors to just 6-of-23 shooting in the quarter.
The Warriors made a run in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics were able to hold on for the win.
The Celtics now have a 2-1 lead in the series. Game 4 will be played on Friday night in Boston.
