Celtics Secure 2-0 Lead Over Mavs
Jrue Holiday Takes the Spotlight
The Boston Celtics have taken a commanding 2-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals, with Jrue Holiday emerging as a key player in Game 2.
Holiday, who had struggled in the series opener, bounced back with an impressive performance, scoring 22 points and dishing out 7 assists. He also played a crucial role on the defensive end, holding Mavericks' star Luka Dončić to just 15 points, well below his playoff average.
Boston Dominates on Defense
The Celtics' defense was once again the key to their success in Game 2, holding the Mavericks to a dismal 37.5% shooting from the field. They also forced 14 turnovers, leading to easy transition baskets for Boston.
The Mavericks, who were slow to make adjustments, never found their rhythm and were unable to match Boston's intensity and physicality.
With the series shifting to Dallas for Games 3 and 4, the Celtics will aim to continue their dominance and secure a 3-0 lead, while the Mavericks will desperately need to find ways to counter Boston's suffocating defense and improve their offensive execution.
