Wolves Take 2 1 Series Lead

Denver Nuggets Fall to Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3

Wolves Take 2-1 Series Lead

Edwards Leads the Way with 25 Points

The Minnesota Timberwolves seized control of their first-round playoff series with the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, taking a 2-1 lead with a 106-99 victory in Game 3. Anthony Edwards led the way for the Wolves with 25 points, while Nikola Jokic had a triple-double for the Nuggets with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists.

The Timberwolves started the game strong, taking an early lead and never looking back. They led by as many as 18 points in the first half and held a 57-45 lead at the break. The Nuggets closed the gap to six points in the third quarter, but the Wolves responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Edwards was aggressive from the start, attacking the basket and creating opportunities for his teammates. He also hit several key shots down the stretch to seal the victory. Karl-Anthony Towns added 21 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves, while D'Angelo Russell had 13 points and four assists.

Jokic was the only consistent bright spot for the Nuggets. He controlled the game from the post and was efficient with his shots. However, he did not get much help from his teammates. Aaron Gordon was the only other Nuggets player to score in double figures, finishing with 14 points.

The Nuggets will now need to win Game 4 at home on Monday night to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole. The Timberwolves, meanwhile, will be looking to close out the series and advance to the second round.
