Giovani Lo Celso was Tottenham's best player on the day, scoring a stunning goal and creating several chances for his teammates.

Heung-min Son also had a good game, captaining the side and scoring a late goal to give Spurs hope of a comeback.

However, Aston Villa were too strong on the day, with Ollie Watkins scoring twice and John McGinn adding a third.

The result leaves Tottenham in seventh place in the Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
